Mr. Bush, I'm sorry, but you are clinically RETARDED!

Mr. Bush says: "The Middle East is littered with agreements that just didn't work, ... And now is the time to address the root cause of the problem". Until this point I thought someone has hit Mr. on his head and that the guy has finally woke up to see clearly after ages of blindness. Then he goes: "and the root cause of the problem is terrorist groups trying to stop the advance of democracies"! Excuse me Mr. Bush but you are wrong on this. The root cause is the implanting of a Zionist virus in the Arab region. The root cause is the British and American support of the Zionist state for 58 years. The root cause is the control of the Zionist lobby on the American administration and economy. The root cause is the double-standardizing of the UN and its ignorance to the thousands of the Israeli violations to International law. The root cause is that America keeps sticking its nose in other nations' affairs. The root cause is that for America an oil barrel is more worthy than a Muslim human. The root cause is that America supports the corrupt governing regimes in different areas of the world to secure its own interests. Peace will never pervade the Middle East until it is cured from Zionism, or in other words until Israel disappears, and it will. Mr. Bush I've had it with your stupidity. Mr. Bush toooot you so much!

"the root cause of the problem is terrorist groups trying to stop the advance of democracies"

The West always told us "you Arabs blame all your problems on Israel". Ironic that they are blaming all their problems on Hizballah/Hamas?

And this man is still speaking of about the march of democracy in the region? يعني مستهبلنا ويلا شو؟

Everyone knows who stopped democracy from developing in our countries.

Your link to the "hundreds" of resolutions that Israel has broken didn't work. I got a 404 page.

Please either fix the link or e-mail the supporting details.

Thank you,
pan@datasync.com

Dear Pan, I fixed the link you required. You can also check the weekly reports on Israeli violations to Human Rights conventions published by the Palestinian Centre for Human Rights on their website
http://www.pchrgaza.org/index.htm

Thanks

First the link to hundreds of UN resolutions that Israel has violated still leads to a 404 page.

Nonethless, I pressed on and found a list of all UN resolutions regarding issues in Palestine.

I have spent, oh, 30 minutes going through what all was there, went to the International Red Cross site, did google searches, and so on. I hoped that you would be able to support your claim, or at least a tenth of your claim.

Sorry, this isn't looking good. To begin with, there just aren't that many UN resolutions for Israel to have managed to violate "hundreds", or A hundred. So now I'm looking to find even tens of resolutions.

I'll spend more time on it this evening and in the coming days. There are some things about the status of Jerusalem that look to be solid.

Just an little FYI - Israel isn't a signatory to the Geneva Convention Additional Protocols of 1977. The USA, while it signed them, has never ratified that signature and isn't bound by them either.

Regarding the Hague treaty of 1907, since Israel didn't exist, I don't have much hope that treaty will apply either.

You are very passionate, but these aren't matters of passion. Your friends, who like you, will give you great latitude on matters of fact because they believe you mean well. I don't know you. I'm looking for someone, anyone, from your side of the argument to make your case. For me, you have to be right.

pan, go back to my article, it says "the hundreds of Israeli violations" not "the hundreds of resolutions"!

You know what? Proabbly I should have said "thousands or resolutions" as this sounds more realistic and factual after 58 years of Israel's barbarism.

And come on, don't twist facts, When we talk about Geneva conventions we mainly talk about the 4th convention of 1949 which is relative to the protection of civilians in time of war. Israel has already been accused by several Security Council reolutions for not abiding by the 4th Geneva convention.

Regarding th 1907's Hague treaty, it is globally considered as a customary law and thus it is binding to all states.

If you want to keep advocating your losing case and I can go with you forever!

First, try reading the entry named "Get out of the UN ... NOW" where I drew the "violated hundreds of the UN resolutions" reference. You'll see that the blogger has made the assertion that "hundreds of resolutions" have been violated.

Next, try reading what I have written, and make note of all the positions I have advocated. It's a short list of two lines : I advocate facts, and skepticism.

I don't "twist facts". Claiming that nations are signatories to treaties by custom alone is twisting a fact.

By the way, the link that I said was broken still is. It has a space ( %20 ) in it and my browser, Firefox, doesn't use the part of the link after that space. I have to copy and paste the link to make it work.

The link for "thousands of Israeli violations of international law" is worthless to me, as I have no way to establish any violations without direct observation or trustworthy testimony. Further, international law is a nebulous thing at best, always bending to the prejudices of the judges.

Regarding accusations within the security council, Iraq was accused of having weapons of mass destruction in the there, too. Because the UN exists within a country that has established a right to freedom of speech, the members of the security council can say anything that comes into their heads, and do.

To repeat, I have only spent a half hour so far with this reference, I will be going over it more throughly soon.

I will not be arguing any points with you. I am checking the truth of the points you make with the references you cite.

I hope that's not a problem for you.

Someone has been fouling batir's blog today with coarse language. Batir, as you know, is a center figure in the political discussions, and his blog attracts comments that are pro and against the government equally likely.

The past week, because of the events in Lebanon, the atmosphere of political discussion has heated up in the Jordanian blogsphere. Some people voiced very hard criticisms of the government and its stance.

Considering the behaviour of the foul-mouthed individual calling himself Ahmad Tarawneh, I do not see anything in Batir's behavior to merit Ahmad's reponses. I expect that Ahmad has been sent by someone to foul Batir's blog on purpose and he was armed with private information about Batir's family.

Batir's knee-jerk reaction was to call the blog to be closed (Ahmad repeatedly challenged him to close the blog, and in a way he was encouraging him to do it).

My personal explanation is that this Ahmad is a member of the intelligence services who intends to poison the blogging atmosphere in Jordan by ruinging the emerging community. They want to break is because it is showing signs of free political discussions and is proving to be a place where people breathe amongst the atmosphere of fear in Jordan.

I am not sure what should be done about this. I urge Batir not to stop blogging. Is there a better way to do this? Write a letter to someone who is concerned about encouring free speech in Jordan? Any help is appreciated.

Tell Batir that rights have to be defended, and if he believes in the right to free speech, then he is obligated to continue when challenged.

He's also obligated to tolerate the most vile comments he can imagine on his blog.

Either free speech is free or it's not.

Unfortunately, that's counter to Islam. I don't know how to help him if he is conflicted between faith and freedom.

Pan. Can you sent me the broken link you are talking about asI went though all links and they all work fine here.

"Internatinal law is bending to the prejudices of the judges", it depends, if you talk about the Security council which is in the hands of a gang of terrorist countries such as the US and the UK, then yes I agree, but when you broaden the discussion to other International bodies you know that we win, because the world is not as stupid as the Zionists may think of them. Critising the highly reputed ICJ is non sense (I know you didn't mention this explicitly so do n't start). When the ICJ ruled that the racist wall is illegal and should be dismantled no one can tell them you are wrong, specially when those who were in favour were 14 judges out of 15, and who was against it? The American judge, what a surprise!

"America is the freedom of speech heaven", this is bull****. If Americans know they will do, If Americans have access via their local media to what is going on in the ME they will take action, but it's only because the Zionists control most of the media, including the press, TV networks and cable companies, that people are limited in what they receive about the ME, and don't tell me they have the internet, before they get triggered by the local media they would never have the interest to research and find out the truth themselves. It's like blaming me, for example, for knowing nothing about New Zeland.

To conclude, you should be ashamed of yourself for being the devil's advocate. How dare you to say "Israel hasn't signed the Hague treaty"? It's like justifying the killing of innocents and the use of illegal weapons as long as they don't put their f***** signature on a peace of paper!

Man, end of the story, if you are someone who wants to learn, go back to history and find out who is the oppressor and who is the oppressed. If you are a zionists then finally we know how to deal with you guys, it's only via resistance that we'll manage to kick out your beloved zionists from the holy land, and yes our people their will do, hopefully very soon.

I read through a couple of hundred UN Resolutions, and I was finding things that you'd want me to find, Status of Jerusalem and such.

Then, I get your last acidic post.

OK, Jabal. You have a problem with me reading the references you cite. You have a problem with someone looking to see if you're telling the truth.

So, I won't look anymore. You have convinced me.

Thank you for your time. You have saved me many hours of research. Be assured that I will give your blog as a reference when I am asked.

"Wa'Alaikum"

pan, I have to apologise if I was "a bit" harsh, it's just that you were making the wrong argument at the very wrong time when someone like me can be easily heated.

I hope you can make good use of the resources I provided you with.

By the way, don't you have a blog?!
