El Salvador Moves Embassy in Israel Saturday August 26, 2006 8:01 AM
SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (AP) - El Salvador will move its embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, saying Friday it had made the decision following a U.N. cease-fire resolution on the conflict in Lebanon that sought to promote greater security in the Middle East. The decision comes a week after fellow Central American nation Costa Rica - the only other country that had an embassy in Jerusalem - announced it was moving its diplomatic mission to Tel Aviv, which is used by other countries because of Jerusalem's disputed status. El Salvador's foreign ministry said in a statement the decision was made after analyzing, with Israel, "the current situation in the Middle East,'' and after resolution 1701 of the U.N. Security Council, "whose mandate is to seek the promotion of security and greater stability, generating a new stage of favorable expectations for the Middle East.'' Security Council resolution 1701, passed earlier this month, called for the cease-fire that ended 34 days of fierce fighting between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon. At least 809 Lebanese and 157 Israelis were killed. The foreign ministry statement said El Salvador "recognizes and guarantees the right of the state of Israel to live in peace within secure and internationally recognized borders.'' It also said that "equally, the government of El Salvador repeats its recognition of the right of a Palestinian state to exist.'' It was not immediately clear when the move would take place. On Aug. 16, a few days after the cease-fire in Lebanon took hold, Costa Rica announced it was moving its embassy, saying the measure was needed to bring the Central American nation in line with international law and mend relations with Arab nations. El Salvador said at the time that it would keep its embassy in Jerusalem for the time being. Israel has criticized Costa Rica's decision, saying it could be interpreted as a "surrender to terror,'' but there was no immediate reaction to El Salvador's announcement. Israel captured east Jerusalem in the 1967 Mideast War and annexed it to the city it considers its capital, a decision not recognized internationally. Palestinians want east Jerusalem, including the walled Old City, as the capital of a future state. Costa Rica moved its embassy to Jerusalem in 1982, leading the nations of the Arab League to break off relations with Costa Rica. El Salvador established its embassy in Jerusalem in 1984.

Jerusalem
Bait el-Maqdis, this is the holly name associated with a traditional events through ages, and mentioned in the Holly Qur'an( Al-ard el-Mubarakah), according to the holly buildings in the city this meaning confirmed for Jews, Christians and Muslims.
• Jerusalem city was known at first Jabos (Yabos). This name descended from the name of the Arabic tribes;Yabosean and Can'anean who established the first urbanized culture in the region. This was mentioned in the Hebrew Bible too.
• In al-Karnack temple there are 119 names of Canaanite cities, they were under the protection of Thotmos at the time; the Egyptian Faro's leads the land of Can' an in a respective co-operative way.
Moreover the archaeological evidence preceding more than one city (it was called city state "Can'anite style") like Jerico, Beit Shan, Gab'on, Shakeem, Jerusalem and Majedo. These settled sites represented curdle of the Arabic culture from Early Bronze Age, 2800BC.
• The old Hebrew Alpha-bit came from the Canaanite and Phoenician roots or origin, so this one of the main impression took place and continued through the reign and the anthropological studies of Jerusalem.
• Yabashi, Faro's name mentioned in Tall el-Amarneh tables 1370BC. One of these tables has the name 'or-Salem the city of peace, the Canaanites King of the city demand protection from Thotmos I approximately 1400BC.This reflects the good relation ship with the Canaanite city-states and both of them in one league against any attacks.
• Waro-Salem a city erected to the Canaanite God Salem.
Under the Babylonian reign the name was 'o-ro-sa-lm and they referred to the Aramaic origin.
• The Hebrew Tribes entered the city around 1000BC. And give it back the Canaanite name 'or-Salem and then derived it to David city. The Hebrew culture got a lot of Canaanite culture, their language, their style of building their dressing and first of all they got permission from king of the holly city to stay on a little part of Moria Mount. This preif aspect makes sense of the truth achieved by scholars without leaning to anybody.
