Action Alert :: Thank El Salvador

As many of you have already known, El Salvador has decided to move their embassy to Israel from Jerusalem leaving the city with no embassies as it should be, for Jerusalem is an occupied Palestinian city and hence any diplomatic representation there would be considered a support to the illegal Israeli occupation. The decision came few days after a similar action from Costa Rica "to rectify a historical error."

Action Needed

This one is easy and simple. Send a "Thank You" email to the Minister of Foreign Affairs in El Salvador ( I couldn't find a reliable working contact for the President).

The minister's email address is: flainez@rree.gob.sv

You can use as a starting point the letter of Zahi Damuni, the president of Al-Awda Coalition, originally written to the President of El Salvador, which reads as follows:

Dear Minister

I congratulate El Salvador for moving its embassy to Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv. However, I would urge following Venezuela's example of recalling your ambassador from the Zionist state, and then closing your embassy there. Only when Israel complies with international law, including implementation of the inalienable right of Palestinians to return to their homes and lands from which they were dispossessed with the imposition of the Zionist state in 1948, should El Salvador and other states consider re-establishing mutual relations.

Sincerely,

Please give it few minutes of your time.

Together we can make the difference.

Palestinian Students Under Occupation

"Dedicated to the young Palestinian heroes resisting occupation with their books and pencils"

ISRAEL DENIES THE PALESTINIANS RIGHT TO EDUCATION

The systematic obstruction and destruction of education in the West Bank and Gaza by the Israeli military occupation not only violates the human rights of individuals, it is an attack on the development of the Palestinian society.

CLOSURE OF PALESTINIAN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS During the First Intifada, between 1987 and 1992, Palestinian education was effectively made illegal by the Israeli occupation and all Palestinian universities, schools and even kindergartens were closed down by military order for nearly five years. Since September 2000, tens of schools have been closed by the Israeli Army and turned into military barracks, while hundreds more have been forced to close periodically due to prolonged curfew and obstructed access. Hebron University and the Palestine Polytechnic University were closed down by military order for 8 months in 2003, denying over 6000 students their right to education.

ISRAEL'S APARTHEID WALL

  • The Wall isolates and divides Palestinian population centers, cutting students off from their schools and universities and literally bulldozing through educational institutions in its path.

  • The waiting time at checkpoints can vary from a couple of minutes to several hours and the checking of IDs in public transport makes it impossible to be sure of arriving at school on time.

  • If the students are on time, the teacher might not be in the classroom yet because of problems related to crossing the wall's checkpoints.

CHECKPOINTS IN THE OCCUPIED TERRITORIES

  • The Ministry of Education reports that many students are victims of beatings, insults, and cursing while crossing checkpoints. Students' fear has escalated so high that thousands have either dropped out of school or postponed their education.

  • Grassroots partner, the Gaza Community Mental Health Program, states: ''It will be impossible to build a healthy society that participates in decision-making and contributes towards development without education. Furthermore, sound mental health cannot be attained with a combination of ignorance and occupation. The root of the problem is the occupation and it must be ended as a first step towards solving its consequences."

INTERNATIONAL LAW AND THE RIGHT TO EDUCATION

Universal Declaration of Human Rights, l948

Everyone has the right to education. Education shall be free, at least in the elementary and fundamental stages. Elementary education shall be compulsory. Technical and professional education shall be made generally available and higher education shall be equally accessible to all on the basis of merit. (Article 26)

Fourth Geneva Convention, 1949

The occupying power shall, with the cooperation of the national and local authorities, facilitate the proper working of all institutions devoted to the care and education of children. (Article 50)

United Nations Committee on Economic, Social Rights, General Comments on the Implementation of ICESCR Right to Education, 1999

The right to education can only be enjoyed if accompanied by the academic freedom of staff and students. (General comment 13, 38)

WE CALL UPON EVERYONE TO CONDEMN ISRAEL'S ILLEGAL OCCUPATION AND TO SUPPORT THE PALESTINIANS' RIGHT TO EDUCATION

Hebron Settlers as a Sample
"Israel" is a Zionist stranger tumour implanted in the Arab World (or the Middle East). The most malignant parts of this tumour are the settlements (colonies) and their settlers. And the worst of the worst are the extremely barbarian settlers carefully chosen to devastate Hebron, the City of Abraham, day and night.
If you cannot imagine what an "extremely barbarian" means please watch the following footage taken by International activists in Tel Rumeida in Hebron. This is one of three films I received from a friend in Hebron.
(I edited the film to focus on some points my friend mentioned to me. I'm also trying to get the slogans in Hebrew translated to English. I'll add subtitles once I get them).

Searching YouTube I found other similar footages from Hebron posted in Jon's excellent video channel and ISM's channel. I selected some of them to post here, but please do visit the channels and watch the whole set of films to fully comprehend the concept of "extremely barbarian" (or probably you mind this term a bit soft and suggest something more expressive!)
I would also strongly recommend a visit to Tel Rumeida Project website as well. International Activists working there feed the website with articles and frequent updates from site. They also recruit volunteers if you are interested, or you may just want to donate to them to continue their noble mission.
I'll leave you now with the films.

Hooray! Last Embassy to Leave Jerusalem (Al-Quds)

I couldn't wait until I get some free time to post this. I'll get an Action alert ready in a couple of days to thank the President of El salvador for his action. (Source: Associated Press)

El Salvador Moves Embassy in Israel

Saturday August 26, 2006 8:01 AM SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (AP) - El Salvador will move its embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv, saying Friday it had made the decision following a U.N. cease-fire resolution on the conflict in Lebanon that sought to promote greater security in the Middle East.

The decision comes a week after fellow Central American nation Costa Rica - the only other country that had an embassy in Jerusalem - announced it was moving its diplomatic mission to Tel Aviv, which is used by other countries because of Jerusalem's disputed status.

El Salvador's foreign ministry said in a statement the decision was made after analyzing, with Israel, "the current situation in the Middle East,'' and after resolution 1701 of the U.N. Security Council, "whose mandate is to seek the promotion of security and greater stability, generating a new stage of favorable expectations for the Middle East.''

Security Council resolution 1701, passed earlier this month, called for the cease-fire that ended 34 days of fierce fighting between Israel and Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon. At least 809 Lebanese and 157 Israelis were killed.

The foreign ministry statement said El Salvador "recognizes and guarantees the right of the state of Israel to live in peace within secure and internationally recognized borders.''

It also said that "equally, the government of El Salvador repeats its recognition of the right of a Palestinian state to exist.''

It was not immediately clear when the move would take place.

On Aug. 16, a few days after the cease-fire in Lebanon took hold, Costa Rica announced it was moving its embassy, saying the measure was needed to bring the Central American nation in line with international law and mend relations with Arab nations. El Salvador said at the time that it would keep its embassy in Jerusalem for the time being.

Israel has criticized Costa Rica's decision, saying it could be interpreted as a "surrender to terror,'' but there was no immediate reaction to El Salvador's announcement.

Israel captured east Jerusalem in the 1967 Mideast War and annexed it to the city it considers its capital, a decision not recognized internationally. Palestinians want east Jerusalem, including the walled Old City, as the capital of a future state. Costa Rica moved its embassy to Jerusalem in 1982, leading the nations of the Arab League to break off relations with Costa Rica. El Salvador established its embassy in Jerusalem in 1984.

We Shall Return (Palestinian Refugees Factsheet)

Palestinian Refugees

We Shall Return ...The Sacred Right

Palestinians have experienced several periods of major displacement, beginning in 1947-48 war (during which Jewish terrorist groups committed 34 massacres, killed around 13,000 Palestinian, and over 750,000 were forced out of their homeland), followed by a second major displacement in the 1967 war. Additional displacement has resulted from Israeli government policies and practices inside Israel and in the 1967 occupied Palestinian territories, including land confiscation, house demolition, revocation of residency status, and deportation.

The Palestinian Refugees is the largest and one of the longest standing unresolved refugee cases in the world today. The state of Israel opposes the return of Palestinian refugees based on the desire to maintain Israel as a ''Jewish state'' characterised by a solid demographic Jewish majority and Jewish control of the land.

Palestinian facilities and private properties such as schools, hospitals, houses and lands confiscated by the Israeli government as "state property'' since 1948 have been allocated for Jewish use only. New settlements throughout Israel and the Occupied Palestinian Territories are built on the remains of the destroyed villages and on land previously owned by Palestinians.

Current Facts

Today there are over 5 million Palestinian refugees throughout the world. There are about 3.5 million Palestinian refugees registered with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). 33% live in 59 UNRWA refugee camps and 67% are scattered throughout various countries.

The "Right of Return''

  • The right of return for Palestinian refugees has been continually upheld by a number of UN resolutions. UN General Assembly Resolution 194 (III) of December 1948 declares that, "refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbors should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date."
  • The refugee issue is one of the most important outstanding issues. So far, no progress has been made due to Israel's denial of its responsibility for the refugee situation.
  • Israel opposes basing any negotiations on the principles of Resolution 194 and has said "No to the right of return'' since 1948.

Violation of International Law

International law demands that neither occupation nor sovereignty diminish the rights of ownership. Therefore, the land and property of Palestinian refugees remains their own and they are legally entitled to return to it.

  • UN General Assembly Resolution 194 (1) states that refugees and their descendants have a right to compensation and repatriation to their original homes and land due to "loss of or damage to property, which, under principles of international law or in equity should be made good by the government or authorities responsible''
  • The Principle of Self Determination, adopted by the UN in 1947, guarantees the right to ownership and domicile in one's own country. This principle was explicitly applied in 1969 and thereafter to the Palestinian people, including "the legality of the People's struggle for self determination and liberation.''
  • The Fourth Geneva Convention (Article 49) prohibits "individual or mass forcible transfers...regardless of their motives'' and calls for evacuated persons to be "transferred back to their homes as soon as hostilities in the area of question have ceased."
  • Article 13 (2) of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights reaffirms the right of every individual to leave and return to his own country.
  • The denial of the right of return for Palestinian Arabs is a breach of Article 2 and Article 5(d) of the Convention on the Elimination of all Forms of Racial Discrimination.
  • Israel remains in violation of Article 12 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which states that "no one shall be arbitrarily deprived of the right to enter his own country."
  • UN General Assembly Resolution 3236 (1974), subsection 2, upholds the rights of the Palestinians to return to their homes and property.
  • UN General Assembly Resolution 52/62 (1997) reaffirms that Palestinian refugees are entitled to their property and the income derived from it.

We call upon everyone to pressure Israel to respect the right of return of all Palestinian refugees.

A Ban for a Ban!

Here is one more reason to love France added to Paris, the Louvre, the Champs-Elysees, the French coffee, the French bread and Zinedine Zidane! (Source: Haaretz Newspaper, August 16, 2006 )

A Ban for a Ban By Goel Pinto

The documentary film festival that opens this weekend in Lussas, France, was to have devoted a special place to Israeli cinema. However, due to the war in Lebanon, the festival's directors decided to cancel the screening of some of the Israeli films that had been invited for screening, among them "Badal," by Israeli director Ibtisam Mara'ana. In a letter to Mara'ana, the festival directors explained that it had been decided to create an alternative program consisting of Lebanese and Palestinian films that would present the face of opposition to the war.

This ugly decision is another expression of the distortion that is typical of Europe's attitude toward Israeli culture in general and local films in particular. Mara'ana is an excellent example of the inseparable bond between Israelis and Palestinians in the local film industry, especially in the realm of documentaries. She is a Palestinian-Israeli director who creates excellent documentaries about the lives of Arab citizens. She also works in total cooperation with Israelis, for example, Osnat Trabelsi, who produced "Badal."

The French festival joins other film festivals in Edinburgh, Scotland, Locarno, Italy and the Dublin Gay and Lesbian Film Festival, all of which have canceled the participation of Israeli filmmakers in their programs over the past two weeks because of the sponsorship of the Israeli Foreign Ministry. All the cancelations were due to pressure by Palestinian groups, which are taking advantage of the war in Lebanon to promote the call for a boycott of Israeli culture.

Last week a petition was published on the internet, signed by dozens of Palestinian artists, calling for a cultural ban on Israeli institutions and artists. Among those who signed were Cannes prize winner Elia Suleiman ("Divine Intervention"), Golden Globe winner Hany Abu-Assad ("Paradise Now"), Sundance Festival laureate Juliano Mer Khamis ("Arna's Children"), and others.

"We call upon the international community," they wrote, "to join us in boycotting Israeli film festivals, Israeli public venues and Israeli institutions supported by the government, and to end all cooperation with these cultural and artistic institutions that to date have refused to take a stand against the occupation."

The malevolence and stupidity of these calls is obvious when one asks against whom this boycott is directed: against Alon Garboz, the director of the Tel Aviv Cinematheque, the man who with his own body blocked demonstrators who protested the screening of Mohammed Bakri's "Jenin, Jenin," despite its distortions of fact? Against Pnina Bleyer, director of the Haifa International Film Festival, who has for years presented films, even insignificant ones, because they were made in Algeria, Morocco or Palestine? Or perhaps it is against filmmakers in Israel, many of whom have proved over the last decade, even during the most difficult days of the intifada, that cultural dialogue is possible even in at a time of violent confrontation?

The point is that the boycott does only not affect Israeli film people, many of whom have for years been among the opponents of the occupation of the territories, but also the Palestinians themselves, as the example of Ibtisam Mara'ana shows. Does the call for a ban mean that "Paradise Now" should not be screened just because one of its producers, Amir Harel, is Israeli? And what about Palestinian filmmaker George Khleifi? Is his signature on the petition also aimed at the film "Route 181," directed by his brother Michel Khleifi, together with Eyal Sivan? Or perhaps his call for a boycott also extends to the book "Landscape in Mist: Space and Memory in Palestinian Cinema," which his brother wrote together with Nurit Gertz, because it was put out by the Am Oved publishing house?

The stupidity and malevolence of the boycott also come to the fore in the double standard which Europeans are experts at presenting. While almost automatically rejecting Israeli artists, Europe welcomes with open arms films from countries where human rights are consistently trampled, like Turkey, Iran and China. In these cases the festivals tend to distinguish between the creator, the creation and the regime in which it was produced. But they have no impediments when it comes to Israel.

Perhaps Palestinian artists should be treated in the same way? Perhaps the time has come for Israeli cultural institutions and filmmakers to call for a boycott of Palestinian artists and their films? The time may have come to use the same sort of language for them as has been used in a petition: "As long as you do not come out expressly against Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran, you and your films are not wanted on the cinematheques, festivals, or movie screens." Until they do so, we will come out in protest against the Israeli occupation of the territories and the expansion of fighting in Lebanon - on our own.

This is so preposterous yet so pathetic for an advocate of the devil. Pinto is using a cheap trick by trying to gain the support of few Israeli artists who are against occupation by generalising their exceptional case. Few points need to be mentioned here; the first is that Pinto should not be worried about those artisits as the film festival organisers in the world are clever enough to differentiate between a film made by an Israeli in support of the Palestinian just cause (or at least part of it) and another which delivers no message but the stereotype the Israeli Zionistpropaganda have been trying to convince the whole world with.

Before I walk away from this point I need not to remind Goel Pinto that Ibtisam Mara'ana wouldn't have her film supported by the Israelis if its content wasn't criticising the Palestinian culture. Likewise, Juliano Mer Khamis, a Jew himself, would have been allowed to bury his mother "Arna -the Hero" in "Israel" if his films were criticising the Palestinians instead of supporting their cause.

Furthermore, even if an jewish-Israeli or an Arab-Israeli artists who is supportive of the Palestinians has been banned from participating in any multi-national event, I trust that they will blame not the organisers of that event but rather the Israeli government which bequeathed its citizens the contempt of the whole world apart from some still brainwashed by the pro-Zionist media.

"Perhaps the time has come for Israeli cultural institutions and filmmakers to call for a boycott of Palestinian artists and their films." I can understand this statement from two different perspectives each is worse than the other. If this is a call for boycotting the Palestinians who hold the Israeli citizenship then this is an unmistakable self-evident proof on the racism that the Zionist ideology and "Israel" as a state is based on despite the makeup the Zionist media is working hard to piant "Israel" with to look like an indiscriminating democratic state. A second reading of the statement gives me the sense that Pinto is actaully talking about a like-to-like confrontation between the cultural institutions and filmmakers on both sides of the Green Line. It seems that Goel is forgetting that the Israeli Occupying Forces (IOF) haven't excluded the Palestinian cultural and educational infrastructure from their shells.
No Israeli artist should have the right to work in peace and roam the world freely to share their art with others until a Palestinian artist has the same right to work and travel freely not under occupation. And until this is acheived the cultural boycott of Israel should continue and spread to all the free peace-lving nations on this Globe.

Zionism .. The Evil Element Exposed (1)

ZIONISM is a political movement advocating the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine.

  • On November 2nd 1917, The British government issued the Balfour Declaration in the form of a letter to a British Zionist leader from the foreign secretary Arthur I. Balfour, satisfying the Zionist aspiration that called for the establishment of a national home for the Jewish people in Palestine.
  • Large-scale Jewish settlement and extensive Zionist agricultural and industrial enterprises in Palestine began during the British mandatory period, which lasted until 1948.
  • In 1939 The British government published a White Paper restricting Jewish immigration and offering independence for Palestine within ten years. This was rejected by the Zionists, who then organised terrorist groups and launched a bloody campaign against the British and the Palestinians.
  • In 1947 Britain decided to leave Palestine and called on the UN to make recommendations. The UN adopted a plan calling for the partition of Palestine into Jewish and Arab states, with Jerusalem as an International zone under UN jurisdiction.
  • In 1948, the Arab-Israeli war irrupted, and over 750,000 Palestinians were made refugees (currently over 5 million). The Zionist state of Israel is not respecting their right of return, and has been committing crimes against the Palestinians ever since then, using all illegal means of missile attacks, house demolitions, torture, kidnaps, and continuous land grab.
  • In 1975 The General Assembly of the UN condemned Zionism as 'a form of racism and racial discrimination'; among those voting against the resolution was the USA.
  • On December 16th 1991, Israel made the revocation of the UN's 1975 resolution a condition of Israel's participation in the Madrid Peace Conference; thus under the pressure of the US administration, the UN cancelled its resolution (now considering Zionism as a non-racist ideology). The Israeli Zionists continue to commit crimes against Palestinians in the occupied territories.

Zionist Quotes

“We declare openly that the Arabs have no right to settle on even one centimetre of Eretz Israel…. Force is all they do or ever will understand. We shall use the ultimate force until the Palestinians come crawling to us on all fours… When we have settled the land all the Arabs will be able to do will be to scurry around like drugged roaches in a bottle.”

Israeli Chief of Staff Rafael Eitan (Gad Becker, Yediot Ahronot 4/13/83, NYTimes 4/14/83)

**********

“The very point of Labour’s Zionist program is to have as much land as possible and as few Arabs as possible!”

Yitzhak Navon (“moderate” ex-Israeli president and a leading labour party politician.) Cited on p.179 of Nur Masalha’s ‘A Land without a People’ who cited Bernard Avishai’s ‘The Tragedy of Zionism’ 1985 p.340.

**********

“[Israel will] create in the course of the next 10 or 20 years conditions which would attract natural and voluntary migration of the refugees from the Gaza Strip and the west Bank to Jordan. To achieve this we have to come to agreement with King Hussein and not with Yasser Arafat.”

Yitzhak Rabin (a “Prince of Peace” by Clinton’s standards), explaining his method of ethnically cleansing the occupied land without stirring a world outcry. (Quoted by David Shipler in the New York Times, 04/04/1983 citing Meir Cohen’s remarks to the Kenesset’s foreign affairs and defence committee on March 16th.)

**********

Ha’aretz June 3rd, 1998 issue reported a revealing slip by Ehud Barak, Rabin’s Labour Party successor, sharing the frustration of the Palestinians:

“If I were Palestinian, I’d also join terror group.”

Later Barak apologised for this slip.

**********

“Let us not ignore the truth among ourselves … Politically we are the aggressors and they defend themselves… The country is theirs, because they inhabit it, whereas we want to come here and settle down, and in their view we want to take away from them their country. … Behind the terrorism [by the Arabs] is a movement, which though primitive is not devoid of idealism and sacrifice.”

David Ben Gurion Quoted on pp 91-2 of Chomsky’s ‘Fateful Triangle’. Which appears in Simha Flapan’s ‘Zionism and the Palestinians’ pp 141-2 citing a 1938 speech.

**********

Since this is Zionism, and these are its crimes, then: Anti-Zionism is neither Anti-Semitism nor Anti-Judaism. Anti-Zionism is simply Anti-Racism

Urgent Action Alert :: It's all in your hands now

Dear All, Yesterday I posted an Action Alert in my blog titled "Action Alert - Nicole Kidman shame on you!" . I criticised the 84-celebrity statement published in Los Angeles Times blaming Hamas and Hezbollah for the civilian casualties in "Israel" and Lebanon.
I asked people to take action by boycotting the celebrities, and by writing to them denouncing their false statement and educating them about the true situation and history of the Middle East conflict.
Since then, two Zionist Journalists, Tim Blair (The assistant editor of the Bulletin weekly magazine and the x senior editor of the Time magazine and Fox News ) and Jules Crittenden (The reporter, columnist and City Editor of the Boston Herald) started an extensive effort to get as many pro-Israelis as they can to enter my blog, copy the celebrities contact list and use it to thank the celebrities for their full-of-lies statement.
Now it's YOUR time to work. If it is a matter of number let's show them who wins the battle. Let's show them what real dedication means.
I'll post the signatories mailing list here again. Write a short, clear and straightforward letter and send it to one or some of the signing celebrities. Tell them they were wrong and tell them why.
Please give it few minutes of your time and few pennies from your pocket.
Together we can make the difference
(Hold on! Before you take action forward this to your mailing list) (Post the original Action Alert in your blog)

ActionAlert :: Nicole Kidman Shame on You!

Dear All,
On the 16th of August 2006, 84 Hollywood, media and sport celebrities published a full-page statement in Los Angeles Times, Hollywood Reporter and Variety blaming Hamas and Hezbollah for the death of Civilians in Lebanon and Israel. The statement reads as follows: "We the undersigned are pained and devastated by the civilian casualties in Israel and Lebanon caused by terrorist actions initiated by terrorist organisations such as Hezbollah and Hamas. If we do not succeed in stopping terrorism around the world, chaos will rule and innocent people will continue to die. We need to support democratic societies and stop terrorism at all costs."

The signatories included Sylvester Stallone, James Woods, Bruce Willis, Ridley Scott, Serena Williams (The Tennis star), Nicole Kidman, Michael Douglas, Dennis Hopper, William Hurt, Joshua Malina and Rupert Murdoch (The Media mogul). Click Here or Here to see the actual Ad page with the full list of signatories.

The Israeli Consulate General in Los Angeles has been hard at work recruiting support from Hollywood movie stars from whom most of the 84 signatories came.

The statement is another shameless attempt to twist facts in regard to the Middle East conflict showing the legitimate resistance by Hamas and Hezbollah against the Israeli occupation of Palestine and Lebanon as an act of terror and portraying Israel as a poor peaceful state which has no choice but to react even more violently to stop the Palestinian and Lebanese "terrorism". The statement deliberately ignores the fact that both Hamas and Hezbollah did not attack civilians in the recent crisis but rather attacked and captured Israeli soldiers in a combat battle. Hezbollah did not launch its rockets and katyushas on Israel until the latter started bombarding the Lebanese cities and infrastructure killing 1 thousand civilians, injuring thousands and forceing 1 million Lebanese to flee their homes. In regard to Hamas, it fully respected a 14-month truce since February 2005 despite the 1000s of Israeli violations of the agreement and it didn't announce the cessation of the truce until June 10th 2006 when Israel committed a massacre on the beach of Gaza City killing 7 civilian members of one Palestinian family.

The statement calls for the support of democratic societies as if it wasn't Israel, USA and EU who decided to collectively punish the Palestinians (By Economic and Financial Blockage) for electing Hamas as their representative in the Legislative Council and the Government through the most democratic elections the Middle East has ever seen.

Action Needed
I know many of you are fans of some or at least one of the signing celebrities; now it's your time to decide what comes first: Your celebrity, or Palestine, justice and freedom?

I spent some time looking for the mailing addresses of the signatories. I managed to get 48 of them. It's still a good number to start with (and don't ask me how I got them)!

Now it's your time to work:
1- Boycott signatories and their movies, sport matches and first of all Rupert Murdoch's biased News Corporation media (Click here to see what firms are part of the News Corporation).

2- Urge your friends to follow your steps by showing them how Zionist celebrities can be part of the Israeli propaganda as in the statement above.

3- Now this is the most important part. Write a letter to one or more of the celebrities reprimanding them for signing the statement and for the falsification of the truth. However, although we know that many of the signatories have long profiles supporting Israel and its Zionist project, we should still give them the benefit of doubt (to be fair to everyone) and give them a bit of truthful background information about the history of the conflict and the current crisis assuming that some of the signatories simply didn't have access to enough information that would allow them to make a fair judgement. You will find the addresses of 48 of the signatories at the end of this post. All the famous ones are available. Don't pick only your favourites (this is not a fan club)! Let our strong message reach all of them. Sending a message to USA wouldn't cost you more than few pennies. I would also advise you to mark your envelope with "Personal" as some letters would go to the celebrities' agents instead of their home addresses.
Please give it few minutes of your time and few pennies from your pocket. Together we can make the difference.

Action Alert : : Thank Costa Rica

Dear all, Costa Rica decided to relocate their embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv . The Costa Rican President Oscar Arias stated that this move was needed " to bring the Central American nation into line with international law ... It's time to rectify a historical error ".
El Salvador, another Central American state, is now the only remaining country placing their embassy in Jerusalem in violation of the International law and UN resolutions.
The Zionist are urging encouraging their members to write to the Costa Rican President "begging" him to relocate the embassy back in Jerusalem. I pity them!
Their message to their members reads as follows "In a cowardly move, fearing Islamic terror, the president of Costa Rica decided to relocate embassy in Israel from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv ".
Action needed:
1- Write to the Costa Rican President praising and applauding his brave decision. The President's email address is:
2- Write the President of El Salvador to urge him to consider adoptation of a similar decision. The President's email address is:
3- Write to the Costa Rican Ministry of Foreign Affairs urging them to take action against the Zionist insult of calling their move "coward". The Ministry's foreign policy department email address is:
(If you want to translate your letter to Spanish you can use Google Translate)
From their own statistics, I estimate around 2000 Zionists to take this seriously and write to the Costa Rican President. How many can we make?
Please give it few minutes of your time.
Together we can make the difference.

Action Alert :: Another Zionist Nonsense!

Dear All, The Zionist organisations are trying to deviate Reuters from its neutrality as a global news agency (which it's barely maintaining) by encouraging their members to protest and complain to Reuters about their article on the Holocaust Cartoon Exhibition in Iran in which Reuters didn't object to the exhibition content in their article. How stupid is this! Was it supposed to condemn the event in its coverage, what a news agency is for then?! I'm sure we shouldn't write to the journalist applauding him/her for what they wrote as there is nothing special to write about, but we can still take two useful actions to stop this nonsense: 1- Use the same platform as theirs to advise Reuters not to give the Zionists' complaints a damn (Excuse my French)!
2- Write to Reporters Without Borders to campaign against such blackmail on reporters just for doing their jobs.
Please give it few minutes of your time.
Together we can make the difference.

Action Alert :: Let the World See the Truth about the Media Lies

Watch >> Rate >> Forward Come on, I'm sure we can do much better than this. "The Peace, Propaganda and the Holy land" is now ranked 100th i.e. it's one step away from leaving the Top Videos list in Video Google. If we really want people to see the truth about the media lies on the Israeli Occupation of Palestine then we should get more people to watch this excellent documentary and rate it high. Just last week it was ranked 40th. We want it No. 1! Here is the link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-7828123714384920696 Please pass the message!

Scotland Declares War on Israel!

Some fabulous news from Scotland:
1- Israel cricket match in Glasgow cancelled.
2- Edinburgh International Film Festival Returns Israeli Money in response to Boycott Plans.
1- Israel cricket match in Glasgow cancelled
2 August 2006
Antiwar campaigners have been informed by police that tomorrow’s scheduled cricket match involving Israel in Glasgow has been cancelled. The organisers were unable to find a venue large enough for the planned protests. However, the matches on Saturday and Sunday are still on, though antiwar groups are maintaining that they should be cancelled given the ongoing situation in Lebanon. Commenting, Osama Saeed of the Muslim Association of Britain said: “This is fabulous news, though we would wish that the decision had been taken earlier by the organisers on the grounds of principle rather than practicality. There’s a war taking place at the moment, with Israel as the aggressor, and it’s insensitive for them to being playing cricket in Glasgow at the moment. We hope that the same decision will be taken on the weekend matches.” Nicola Fisher of the Stop the War Coalition said: “We’re pleased the match has been cancelled as we don’t believe Israel should be afforded the legitimacy of taking part in these sporting occasions. The European Cricket Council should cancel the other matches involving Israel too.” Bilal Anwar of the Federation of Student Islamic Societies said: “This is a victory for peace-loving Glaswegians who have tried to stop this match. The message to all Israeli institutions is that they’re not welcome in Glasgow.” Mick Napier of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign said: “Twice in the same day, amidst concerns for the security of their games, the Israeli cricket team in Glasgow has cancelled the venues it had been allocated to play. They shifted yesterday to the Glasgow Academicals ground, protected by a brutal two metre spiked fence perimeter, and then cancelled even this arrangement. “The security concerns are the result of widespread revulsion among the public over the massacres by Israeli soldiers of Lebanese and Palestinians – they fear, correctly, that the appearance of off-duty Israeli soldiers in cricketing whites will provoke widespread protests. They are right. The Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign calls for intensified pressure to have this tour cancelled by the cricketing authorities and the Israeli soldiers asked to leave Scotland.” [ENDS]

2- Edinburgh International Film Festival Returns Israeli Money in response to Boycott Plans.
2 August 2006
The organisers of the Edinburgh International Film Festival have cancelled an official Israeli Embassy sponsorship of their programme and returned the Israeli cheque following a huge public outcry over Israeli Embassy involvement. Shane Danielsen, the Artistic Director of the Edinburgh International Film Festival wrote to all those who complained that he had "almost had my bottom teeth knocked out with the butt" of an Israeli rifle recently in Occupied Palestine, and that he was eager to assist those Israeli filmakers who stood "above all the gunfire, and the shouting of thuggish soldiers."
Writers, actors and members of the public inundated the organisers with mail and phone calls demanding the financial support from the Israeli Embassy be ended and warning that they would boycott Edinburgh's flagship event if this were not done. The Edinburgh Branches of the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign and the Stop the War Coalition had planned to picket all major Film Festival events and shame the organisers if the link with the Israeli Embassy had been maintained.
The Film Festival website carries the following: "this funding was secured some three months ago, well before the commencement of current hostilities in Lebanon. Of course we acknowledge that the situation has altered dramatically since then, and with this in mind, took the decision early yesterday to decline any funding from the Israelis."
Scottish PSC welcomes this late conversion of the EIFF organisers to opposition to human rights violations: it is regrettable, however, that the EIFF allowed the link to be made in the first place. It is simply not good enough to respond to the most recent massacres in Qana. Israel, after all, has been violating Palestinian human rights for decades. Israeli killing in Palestine, and Lebanon, continued yesterday. The Edinburgh StWC and SPSC never at any time called for the banning of the Israeli film or film-maker in question. We will engage artistically and politically with all film-makers who deal with the issues of Israel's past and ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine and invasion of neighbouring countries.

Faith, Hate, and Charity

Last Monday I watched a BBC documentary called "Faith, Hate, and Charity" which claimed to investigate the involvement of the major UK charity dedicated for Palestine, Interpal, in funding Hamas movement. In fact it didn't investigate or analyse anything, it just me feel sick!

Interpal has always been a target for false accusations by the British Zionists led by the Board of Deputies of British Jews (BoD). The Charity has once been considered a terrorist organisation by the US government which froze its accounts and assets in the USA until they got released after a long judicial battle. Similar accusations triggered a couple of reviews by the British Charity Commission in 1996 and 2003 which cleared Interpal in terms of where its funds end. Earlier this year -or probably last December- Interpal won a case against BoD in a court which ruled that the BoD must apologise for accusing Interpal of being terrorist and must donate £10,000 for charity (I got the donation part from a very close yet very trustworthy friend). It seems this week's panorama program which was produced by the long pro-Israel-profile Zionist journalist John Ware was a retaliation for their early loss.

The evil-minded journalist did not only attack Interpal in his film, but rather the Islamic religion as anideologyy and the fundamentals of the Palestinian community. It was fully biased and unbalanced in reflecting the true picture of Interpal's activities. It also proved that Ware lacks the very basic understanding of Islam and its principles. Denying the school teachers' right to teach their students religious and national chants is just ridiculous and insensible. Showing the democratically elected representative of the Palestinians, Hamas, as a terrorist organisation is another part of the Zionist propaganda Ware adopted and definitely failed to deliver in his rubbish immature film. It seems that the Zionists and their advocates are not satisfied with their crimes against Palestinians in Palestine; they insist not to save an effort to starve the Palestinians by cutting their aids to prove to the world that they are the bloodiest butchers on earth.

On the other hand, watching the film I noticed a weakness by most of the Palestinian interviewees in explaining themselves and delivering their message. Many of them failedfailedd to justify even the very basic practices within their communities. However, I'm not blaming them as I can fully understand it when someone never needed to think about something they've been doing since their birth. I came to the conclusion that it would have been more beneficial if the Palestinians refrained from giving that Zionist idiot the chance to interview them in pick about their words.

I'm not sure if you will be able to watch the documentary from this link or it's only available for UK viewers, but it's still worth giving it a try if you are interested.
